You can now have Hutchinson Overide 35mm tubeless tyres and sealant fitted to your Hunt wheels.
Retail price (SRP) for these tyres is £140 per pair including fitting and sealant.
These tyres were made for that dirt road you've always wanted to take on. The Overide was specifically designed for gravel usage, whether occasional or intensive. Paved or degraded roads, paths or tracks, these tyres give you the chance to improvise and make your outings more versatile. The 35mm version has a semi-slick profile favouring performance and comfort while the 38mm version has an improved central part to bring adhesion and rideability improvements. Its Road Tubeless Ready version with bead to bead reinforcement which provides the chance to run the tyres at lower pressure is certainly your best choice on transversal routes or long journeys.
Road Bike Review | Dirt Road Dabbler Award: Hutchinson's Overide
If most of your riding is on relatively smooth dirt roads, tarmac, and rough pavement, you can’t go wrong with Hutchinson’s newest offering. Offered in both 38mm and 35mm widths, it’s a large volume tubeless tire that’s light on tread so it rolls with exceptional efficiency on smooth surfaces. It also strikes a nice balance of light weight and puncture protection. At $77 a tire, it certainly isn’t cheap, but quality is high and tubeless setup is a cinch. The real clincher for this tyre though is its casing. While tough enough for gravel, it’s also surprisingly supple, to the point that we ran higher pressures than expected. This is a very good thing and here’s why. Higher pressures help you avoid rim strikes but thanks to the tyre’s ability to conform to obstacles in the road (think gravel), the ride is still very comfortable and controlled. This is an ideal tire for Gravel World Championships or other similarly fast, smooth gravel or dirt road races.
Fitting and Sealant
We will fit your tyres to your Hunt wheels prior to dispatch. Valves will be fitted, hand tightened and sealed around the valve base with a small amount of latex sealant. We fill the tyres with between 35 and 60ml of tubeless sealant (depending on tyre size) and the beads are fully mounted. We then run a small amount of sealant around the beads for quick and long lasting sealing. The tyres are inflated to maximum pressure and we then maneuver and rotate them to ensure sealant is dispersed well and a good seal all around the tyre is achieved. Your wheels and tyres are then left for several hours and checked for air leakage. Once everything is sealed correctly we lower the pressures to 50 psi for shipping and off they go. You receive your wheels and tyres set up and ready to go for hundreds, if not thousands, of miles of hassle free, low-rolling resistance, puncture-sealing riding.
