Engineered for the demands of modern racing, the 5AM Limitless steel spoke delivers a level of all-round speed beyond any wheel currently raced in the pro peloton, setting a new benchmark for outright performance on fast and rolling terrain at the highest level of the sport.

Drawing on ten years of wheel development, materials innovation and an evolving process of aerodynamic and real-world testing, the 5AM Limitless was created using a complete system approach to performance. Each component of the wheel system was engineered, vetted and validated through HUNT’s 5-Stage Aero Development process, to make riders faster in actual racing conditions, not just on paper.

Technology.

Designed by HUNT’s in-house engineering team, the 5AM Limitless represents the latest evolution of our rider-first approach to wheel design. Combining years of aerodynamic learning with new testing protocols, designed to understand how wheels perform in the real world, with a rider on the bike. Rather than relying on a single testing method, HUNT leverages a 5-Stage Aero Development process, where each stage answers different questions and builds a complete picture of performance. Through this layered development process and patented Limitless Width Aero Technology, performance is maximised to achieve the optimal balance between aerodynamics and weight, delivering the fastest wheel system available under 60mm.

The front wheel runs in clean air, offering the greatest opportunity to reduce drag. By increasing rim depth and width, while minimising rotational drag through reduced spoke count, hidden spoke nipples and low-profile hub design, we maximise aerodynamic efficiency where it matters most without compromising crosswind stability.

The rear wheel encounters turbulent airflow, downstream of the front wheel, frame, and rider movement, making rear wheel aerodynamic gains less important in the context of the complete system. Rear wheel efficiency is achieved by reducing weight and maximising power transfer. A shallower, narrower rim paired with additional spokes delivers enhanced responsiveness and efficient transmission of every watt to the road.

So how fast is the system?

In wind tunnel testing: 1.34 watts faster than the heavier Reserve 57|64 TA with a 30mm tyre and show strong results against the heavier and deeper Roval Rapide Sprint. In outdoor testing, conducted in partnership with Dr. Barnaby Garrood at Aerosensor™, the rotational drag reduction of the more aerodynamic spoke design, delivering a 2.4-watt advantage over the Scope Artech 6. The third generation of Limitless wheels leaves nothing on the table.

High Specification Components.

Advanced Carbon Construction

5AM Limitless rims are made using a blend of T700, T800, and T1000 UD carbon fibres, with high-modulus Mitsubishi Pyrofil HR4012M - a material more common in aerospace, aviation and motorsport applications. This is combined with preformed angled spoke patches which allows the nipples to sit at the perfect angle inside the rim, ensuring spoke tensions are more balanced, resulting in a superior wheel build.

Pillar Super Wing 20 Spokes

All-new Super Wing spokes from our long-term partners at Pillar, with the longest aerodynamic bladed section on the market. Aerofoil shape offers maximum aero performance, combined new internal nipple interface to further reduces turbulence across the rim surface. The most aerodynamic stainless steel spoke and nipple combination that we have ever developed.

Limitless Aero Maximised Front Rim

HUNT patented Limitless Width Aero Technology enables us to build a rim that possesses wide, blunt dimensions and class-leading aerodynamic and side wind handling characteristics, whilst maintaining a weight that won’t detract from the all-round performance of the wheelset. What does that mean on the road? The wheel carries speed like a deeper wheel, with the stable feel of a shallower wheel.

Chase SL Hub

The Chase SL hubset is our performance hubset that has evolved from the race winning 48T DBL ratchet system, developed for our Limitless Road and Gravel Range. Coming in at an astonishing 277g for the pair, a reduction in weight found from the
utilisation of higher grade 7075 alloy. This has been tested to withstand over 100,000 cycles at 250Nm of torque, providing exceptional reliability, sprint after sprint.

Internal spoke nipples further reduce aerodynamic and rotational drag across the wheel system. 

Precision Cartridge Bearings

Built with precision-engineered stainless steel cartridge bearings for easy maintenance, manufactured by TPI bearings with CN clearance to ensure optimal fit and long-lasting performance under real-world riding conditions.

These wheels come with H_Care FREE Lifetime Crash Replacement which aims to protect your investment in HUNT technology by enabling first owners of eligible HUNT wheels free access to any HUNT-branded replacement parts and labour to repair in the event of damage through intended use. We will cover the reasonable cost of the labour to repair your wheels at a local bike shop or professional bike mechanic or perform the work free of charge at our nearest office. If a repair is unrealistic, we will replace your damaged wheel. 

Stated wheel weights: Our stated wheel weights reflect the wheelset only; without rim tape, tubeless valves or disc brake lock rings, as is industry standard. While a 3% variance (lower or higher) in total system weight is completely normal in manufacturing. 

All HUNT wheels models have to pass our harsh cobbled-rolling-road tests for rider weight limits, please see here for more details. Max system weight 120 kg (system weight – total weight of fully kitted up rider, bike and luggage). If the system is over 100 kg then an experienced bike mechanic should check the wheel regularly.
