After almost three years of unwavering service on the toughest trails, with numerous awards and recognitions along the way, the restless design team at HUNT saw an opportunity to update the Trail Wide wheelset to meet the evolving demands of today’s riders.

Starting with what we learnt around profile optimisation from the burlier Enduro Wide V2 project, we set out to improve upon its lighter sibling, not an easy task with an Editor’s Choice-winning wheelset.

Combining the all-new 30mm internal rim profile, with new hubs and spoke configurations, results in a wheel that keeps the outward appearance of it's predecessor yet provide 20% more impact resistance.

We see wheels as a system, not a single component

Rims | 6069 T6 (490 MPa, + 69% Ultimate Tensile Strength over 6061-T6) sleeved construction, 30mm wide (internal), work-hardened shot-peened finish.
Hubs | 5° RapidEngage, Boost (110/148 ), Boost QR (141mm) or Super-Boost (157/12) spacing hubs available, large double sealed cartridge bearings. Rock Shox Torque Caps for Boost hubs and QR adapters for hubs are available. 
Spokes | 28h Spoke Count, Triple Butted (2.2-1.8-2.0) PSR reinforced Pillar Spokes.
Tyres | Optimised for 2.3"-2.5" tyres set up Tubeless, but also work very well with 1.9"-2.8". Also great with standard tyres and tubes.
Axles | 7075-T6 axles for strength and stiffness, reduced flex in the hub also helps to increase bearing life.
Hand-built | All of our wheels are built and finished by hand, inclusive of a full quality control inspection.

Tyres Info

HUNT recommends a 2.3"-2.5" tyre for best performance, tyre widths between 1.9" and 2.8" are also safe to use.
You must not exceed the maximum tyre pressure limits set out in the table below or the maximum limit set by your tyre manufacturer if this is lower.

Note: best performance is usually gained by using tyre pressures lower than the maximum, you can see our blog post here about this.

H_CERAMIK freehub body reinforcement coating (Shimano/Sram HG body) provides excellent durability and protects against cassette sprocket damage to the freehub often seen on standard alloy freehub bodies.
Boost QR skewers NOT supplied.
3x2 pawl, 36 tooth RapidEngage freehub, with an engagement angle of just 5 degrees
9/10/11 speed Shimano/SRAM, Shimano Microspline compatible freehubs and SRAM XD Driver version available.

All HUNT wheels models have to pass our harsh rolling-drum fatigue tests for rider weight limits, please see here for more details. Max system weight 135kg (system weight – total weight of fully kitted up rider, bike and luggage). If a rider is over 125Kgs then an experienced bike mechanic should check the wheel regularly and it is advisable to use tyres at max 44psi as this will reduce the fatigue on the wheelset.
