Beyond Bike Check Part 1

Hunt Beyond are a collective group of riders that push themselves and their bikes to the absolute limits. Partaking in multi-day bikepacking events, ultra-endurance bike races and self-supported uber-climbing hike-a-bike bonzana's, these enigmatic riders spend many hours hunkered down on their chosen steeds, grinding away to the next checkpoint or camping spot.

It's paramount that their bikes suit their style of riding and can cope with the demands of the journey, so we wanted to take a look at what bike they use, as well as the Hunt wheels they've paired them with.

Sofiane Sehili’s Bombtrack Hook EXT Carbon

Sofiane has been on the comeback trail since breaking his knee in a collision with a truck at the tail end of 2020. Since his accident he has been trying to avoid riding on the road too much, so his Bombtrack Hook EXT Carbon has been getting a lot of use.

Built up with a Shimano GRX group set and Hunt x Mason 4 Season Disc this bike is perfect for getting in the miles on mixed surfaces.

Sofiane Sehili’s Bombtrack Hook EXT Carbon

Emma Pooley is vastly experienced in the world of professional road racing, however since retiring from the pro peloton she has discovered a love of hiking up very steep mountains and then rattling back down on a bike.

Her latest build from Sonder Bikes should make those descents much for enjoyable and is kitted out with a set of Hunt XC Wide MTB wheels.

Josh has been supported by Mason cycles since 2015 and is not afraid to think outside the box when it comes to equipment.

His Mason Bokeh is a prime example with a custom painted Lauf fork fitted to help smooth out those bumps. A Shimano GRX 2x groupset and a set of pre-production Limitless Gravel Disc wheels has been getting thoroughly tested for the past few months.
