<h1>Rims</h1><i>A strong and seriously wide yet lightweight carbon rim, with an aero-rounded profile for excellent handling and speed. The extra friction Griptec brake-track provides excellent braking, on even the longest descents and in the wet. The rim dimensions are wide at 27mm (19mm internal) which creates a great tyre profile, resulting in excellent grip and lower rolling resistance.</i>
<h1>Rim Surface</h1><i>High TG resin provides extremely reliable braking and durability for longer descents. We lab test all our rims to very high braking temp (200 C) to push their limits. The high temp resins used for our Griptec Braking surfaces and rims are designed and perform to extremely high levels of braking heat build-up. We also ride test our rim brake wheels in the Alps to ensure the wheels are put through their paces on long, steep and fast descents.</i>
<h1>Bearings</h1><i>The heart of any wheel. Investing in them makes huge sense. We use high-grade precision sealed cartridge bearings with proprietary waterproof grease specially selected for even the worst weather.</i>
<h1>Hubs</h1><i>Precision machined straight pull hubs and spokes add strength and enhance power transfer meaning all your force pushes you forwards. Large 15mm diameter hub axles for sprinting and out-of-saddle climbing responsiveness. Circular dropout interface steps add extra stiffness.</i>
<h1>Spokes</h1><i>We chose the top-of-the-range Pillar Spoke Re-enforcement PSR XTRA models. These butted blade aero spokes are lighter and provide a greater degree of elasticity to maintain tensions longer and add fatigue resistance. PSR spokes feature the 2.2 width at the head providing more material in this high stress area. Nipples are 14mm alloy, anodized and come with a hex head so you can achieve precise tensioning. Combining components well is key which is why all Hunt wheels are hand-built.</i>
<h1>Rim Bed</h1><i>H-Lock is our tubeless-ready rim bed profile with up-kicks to the shoulders of the tubeless steps which help to create a great rim-well seal for first installation and easy sealing of tubeless tyres. The H-Lock profile also locks the beads in place more securely once seated. This is especially important when running lower pressures or riding off-road.</i>
<h1>Freehub Body</h1><i>Featuring a 3 multi-point pawls with 3 teeth each and a 48 tooth ratchet ring results in an impressively low 7.5 degree engagement angle and excellent resistance to wear under heavy loads. The Sprint freehub has strong individual pawl springs which engage quicker. There is also a Steel Spline Insert re-enforcement to provide excellent durability against cassette sprocket damage often seen on standard alloy freehub bodies.</i>
<h1>Skewers</h1><i>The little details matter, the Hunt 4Season quick-release polymer-cam skewers even have upgraded stainless steel springs so they don't rust.</i>

We all want to go fast; that was the brief. The latest breed of tubeless tyres give up nothing in weight to their clincher counterparts and the Schwalbe Pro One, that you can have fitted by us prior to delivery, weighs only 250g for a 25mm tyre (290 grams including 40 ml of sealant, while the Continental GP4000SII tyre with tubes weighs 320 grams). The tyre rolling resistance of the new Schwalbe Pro One Tubeless is reduced by 9.5% over their clincher version according to Schwalbe's own tests! Hence tubeless was essential. Going deep is obvious for aero gains, wide rims with a U-profile provide great handling and reduce drag across multiple wind yaw-angles.

The freehub body on the HUNT Sprint hub features 48 teeth on the ratchet ring, and treble-tooth pawls, providing incredible 7.5 degree engagement. Perfect for when the hammer goes down and you need an instant response. The strong individual leaf-sprung pawls are louder than circular spring set-ups, but we think that is the right decision to make for this type of wheelset. Also, stiffness = speed... so we specced large 15mm diameter hub axles for sprinting and out-of-saddle climbing. Ease into them, your mates won’t know it’s the wheels!.     All HUNT wheels models have to pass our harsh cobbled-rolling-road tests for rider weight limits, please see here for more details. 109kgs is the upper recommended rider weight limit for these wheels. Please include the weight of any luggage in your total rider weight when choosing the correct wheels. If a rider is over 90Kgs then an experienced bike mechanic should check the wheel regularly and it is advisable to use tyres minimum 25c at max 100psi as this will reduce the fatigue on the wheelset. We are cyclists ourselves and do of course go above and beyond to offer excellent service if you ever do experience any issues. We carry full spares at very reasonable prices and offer complete support.
