The Purpose.

<h1>Weight</h1><i>The consequence of the fanatic attention to detail is a resulting 1535 gram wheelset weight. Acceleration and climbing are massively improved over many of the stock wheels supplied on road/CX disc brake bikes and of course hugely important for performance bikes like the Mason Cycles range.</i>

The Purpose.

This is the wheel that started it all. We've updated the specs over the years, but the principle has always remained the same: maximise durability whilst minimising any drawbacks in riding characteristics. A wheel not just designed to endure the worst two seasons, but deliver performance reliably all year round.



A lightweight, durable year-round disc wheelset was one of our first projects, and the outcome was the award-winning HUNT 4 Season Disc wheelset.

High fatigue resistance heat-treated alloy. Asymmetric for a highly-durable wheel build. H-lock bead-seat for easy and secure tubeless installation.

Visibility

Featuring a black night-safe reflective decal on rim – perfect for visibility during low-light/night riding.

HUNT 4 Season Disc J-bend spoke hubs with extra bearing shielding. 10° FastEngage 4-pawl freehub, with H_CERAMIK coating for enhanced durability. Centre-lock disc mount.

HUNT recommends a 25-40mm tyre for best performance, tyre widths between 25mm and 50mm are also safe to use.   Note: best performance is usually gained by using tyre pressures lower than the maximum, you can see our blog post about this, read here.  Tubeless-ready for lower weight and rolling resistance.  You must not exceed the maximum tyre pressure limits set out in the table below or the maximum limit set by your tyre manufacturer if this is lower.

All freehub standards accounted for. Forged and CNC’d 6061-T6 heat treated aluminium alloy body. 7075-T6 aluminium alloy axles. Center-lock disc mount. Stated wheel weights: Our stated wheel weights reflect the wheelset only; without rim tape, tubeless valves or disc brake lock rings, as is industry standard. A 3% variance (lower or higher) in total system weight is normal for wheelset manufacturing.

All HUNT wheels models have to pass our harsh cobbled-rolling-road tests for rider weight limits, please see here for more details. Max system weight 115kg (system weight total weight of fully kitted up rider, bike and luggage) If a rider is over 100Kgs then an experienced bike mechanic should check the wheel regularly.
