Bike Check:
Jon Bawdens' Enigma

We spotted Jon's pearlescent Enigma gracing the pages of a Facebook group one night and knew we had to find out more about the bike and rider. Fortunately for us, Jon was more than accommodating, and after a quick introduction he sent us through some great shots as well as a full spec breakdown. We'll let Jon take over from here...

Jon's Pearlescent Enigma

After many years as a 'pure' roadie I started riding a gravel bike to have a bit of a change...this really reinvigorated my love of cycling and soon I was searching out the byways and paths all around my local area as well as getting involved in events such as Gritfest, riding the King Alfred Way, or overnight bikepacking trips.

My current main gravel bike is a Kinesis ATR Titanium (fitted with a set of HUNT 4 Season Gravel wheels) and although this is a superb all-rounder and is perfect for loading up with bikepacking kit, I also still ride with some local roadie groups and was looking for a slightly 'lighter and racier' option (although I have kept my original 1990 Colnago Master Piu as a classic 'road' bike..)

Enter the plan to go for a lightweight 'gravel/road' build and I started looking at buying a carbon frame as the basis for the build. I spotted the Enigma frame and as soon as I saw the absolutely amazing paintjob I knew that if it was paired with the HUNT 35 Carbon Gravel X-Wide wheels with their Ti-nitride coating it would look rather special, so key parts of the build were coming together nicely. The rest of the build was based around around taking some of my favourite components that I have used on other builds over the years and that have proven reliable and trusted..
