The rim dimensions are wide at 26mm (22mm internal) which creates a great tyre profile with wider 30-45mm tyres, giving excellent grip and lower rolling resistance. </i>
<h1>SPOKES</h1><i>The SAPIM CX-Ray receives one of the best results in fatigue testing of any spoke. Its unique strength and flexibility make the CX-Ray suitable for the Gravel Race wheels. The nipples come with a square head so you can achieve precise tensioning. Combining these components well is key which is why all HUNT wheels are hand-built.</i>
<h1>FREEHUB BODY</h1><i>Featuring 3 multi-point pawls with 3 teeth each and a 48t ratchet ring. The result an impressively low 7.5 deg engagement angle. Durability is a theme for HUNT, and so all our freehub bodies have Steel Spline Insert re-enforcements to provide excellent durability against cassette sprocket damage often seen on standard alloy freehub bodies.</i>
<h1>BEARINGS</h1><i>Bearings are the heart of any wheel and investing in them makes huge sense, so we went to Japanese bearing experts EZO and invested extra to spec their high-grade precision sealed cartridge bearings in our full range.</i>
<h1>NIPPLES</h1><i>To accompany these high-end spokes, we selected alloy nipples for our HUNT Gravel Race wheels. All with the goal to create the ultimate light weight, serviceable and durable wheels for gravel. To finish it off, we are using external spoke nipples to achieve ease of service so when running tubeless you won’t need to take off the rim tape to true. As well as the standard square body we chose nipples with a hex head so you can achieve precise tensioning.</i>
<h1>RIM BED</h1><i>H-Lock is our tubeless-ready rim bed profile with up-kicks to the shoulders of the tubeless steps which help to create a great rim-well seal for first installation and easy sealing of tubeless tyres. The H-Lock profile also locks the beads in place more securely once seated. This is especially important when running lower pressures off road.</i>

The Purpose

The HUNT Gravel Race 700c wheelset was designed to offer super-sharp performance on the path less pedalled. The line between road and gravel has never been more blurred, so we built a wheelset that could excel on gravel and fast off-road segments, while providing the responsiveness and durability riders demand.

Lightweight 6069-T6 alloy rims offer quick acceleration, combined with our straight-pull Sprint hubs, providing just 7.5 degrees of engagement. Whether going full gas on the flats or cresting over a climb, you’ll be ready for whatever terrain lies ahead.

  • Rims | 6069-T6 Heat treated. Tubeless-ready. Disc specific (no disguised rim braking surfaces). Rounded 25mm profile. Micro-peened finish strengthens the surface even further. H_LOCK bead-seat for easy and secure tubeless installation
  • Tyres | 22mm rim bed creates a wide & stable tyre profile. Ideal for 30-45mm tyres, but also great with 25mm tyres. Also works excellently with clincher tyres and tubes.
  • Hubs | Race Season SPRINT straight-pull hubs, boasting an engagement rate of just 7.5 degrees owing to the leaf-sprung, multi-point pawls and 48 ratchets in the hub shell.
  • Axles | Easily adaptable & we fit them for you. Fit all current axle sizes and are easy to change; Front - QR, Bolt thru 12mm, Rear - QR, Bolt thru 12x142, 12x135, 10x135.

  • Tyre Info

    • 100psi when used with 25-28mm tyres. Maximum tyre pressures for other tyre sizes: 30mm - 32mm do not exceed 70psi, 33mm do not exceed 50psi, 35-45mm do not exceed 45psi, 45-50mm do not exceed 40psi .
    • The maximum pressure of your tyre may be lower than the maximum pressure for the rim - never exceed the maximum pressure written on the side of your tyre

  • Axle Size

    • These wheels are available with all existing disc brake road bike axle adapter sizes. All our axle adapters are easy to swap but we'll fit the adapters your bike needs to save you the work. After your order checkout is completed a simple form will show, as well as being sent to you in your confirmation email. The form allows you to select the axle size your bike needs, don't worry it also includes the option to tell us your bike model and we will find out and then fit the correct axles, plus we're happy to change them later at our cost if you don't quite get it right.     All HUNT wheels models have to pass our harsh cobbled-rolling-road tests for rider weight limits, please see here for more details. 115kgs is the upper recommended rider weight limit for these wheels. Please include the weight of any luggage in your total rider weight when choosing the correct wheels. If a rider is over 105Kgs then an experienced bike mechanic should check the wheel regularly and it is advisable to use tyres minimum 28mm at max 100psi as this will reduce the fatigue on the wheelset. We are cyclists ourselves and do of course go above and beyond to offer excellent service if you ever do experience any issues. We carry full spares at very reasonable prices and offer complete support.

Buy with confidence, if for any reason you wish to return the wheels for a full refund of your order you can do so up to a full 60 days after you receive them whether they have been ridden or not. Please note we cannot offer refunds on wheels that have suffered from crash damage but do offer a crash replacement discount.
